Queueing Networks

• A queueing network is a collection of queues connected by directed links.

• Example. A (simple) model of a virtual circuit.

• This is an example of an open queueing network: New customers enter and old ones (eventually) leave.

• If customers cannot enter or leave, the network is a closed queueing network.
