If you feel that you are in a hurry to get a working filter and do not care for the theory, then this book is not for you. However, sooner or later, you may need an understanding of that theory part, then it is the time to read it. There is a solution manual of 660+ pages available from the publisher, with all problems explained and simulated in details. Yes, there are some typos/errors in text and equations, kind of annoying when in equations, since when I am learning, I have to at first trust what I am reading is correct. It explores the op amp bandwidth limitations and how to take this into account to make accurate predictions on real filters. The fundamental theory of filter design is discussed at an introductory level, excellent starting point for more advanced readings. It has everything you need on filter design with all the clear explanation and design examples. Strange thing is he uses dB/octave instead of dB/decade. I also feel that the people who wrote the previous comments should concentrate on the fundamentals to do design rather than relying on a computer to do the job. There are numerous errors in the book, and the presentation of the material is confusing. I hope that an errant sheet could accompany the book. Also, the back cover states that Matlab is employed to minimize algebraic and other computational needs. Where is it employed???? 14 of 14 people found the following review helpful: Good Book, January 14, 2002 Reviewer: A reader I design filters of frequencies up to 10MHz and I can find every information I need about filters in this book. From the basics to practical considerations such as effects of the op-amp's finite gain on the filters. It also covers Gm-C and switched capacitor filters. Although it says there is matlab but there isn't, but hey! why worry? It's explaination is just as good as Razavi's Design of Analog Integated Circuits. And neither did Razavi have any SPICE, etc. This book is much better written than Continuous-Time Active Filters Design by Deliyannis and the examples are all 'design examples'.
